Abstract (en)

[origin: JPH04319488A] PURPOSE: To incorporate a high color density and a minimum adherence trend by forming of a support and a dye acceptor layer substantially formed of a polycarbonate disposed on the support and incorporating a predetermined structural unit in the polycarbonate. CONSTITUTION: The dye acceptor element for thermosublimation printing comprises a support and a dye acceptor layer substantially consisting of a polycarbonate arranged on the support in such a manner that the polycarbonate contains 30 to 95 wt.% of an aromatic carbonate structural units corresponding to formula I [-O-diphen-] and 70 to 5 wt.% of a structural unit of an aromatic polycarbonate corresponding to formula II [-O-polyether-X-], wherein the diphen is the residue of a diphenol containing 6 to 30 and preferably 12 to 24 carbon atoms, X is -OCO-, the polyether is the residue of an aliphatic polymer diol having a molecular weight Mn of 600 to 20,000, and X is -O-CO-.
