Abstract (en)
For packaging a stack (3) of flat articles, preferably a stack of bags provided with handles, the height of which is greater than the width of a bag, a web section (4) of paper or plastic is wrapped around the stack and the edge regions of the web section, which overlap one another on one side of the stack, are bonded together to form a tubular sleeve enclosing the stack. The edge regions (6, 7) of the sleeve, which project from the stack at the sides, are folded onto the narrow sides of the stack whilst forming corner folds (16, 17), and each corner fold is folded onto one side of the stack and bonded to this. In order to be able to execute the packaging with simple means, first one side of each end region is folded around the longer edge of the still open stack side onto the stack side and the adjoining side parts of the end region are stroked out into the plane of the folded-in side, so that in this way also the opposing side of the end region is folded around the opposing longer edge on the stack side forming corner folds projecting over the stack. The corner folds are then folded in onto the two other narrow sides of the wrapping, which are adjacent to the at first still open stack side, and bonded to this. <IMAGE>

Zur Verpackung eines Stapels (3) flacher Gegenstände, vorzugsweise eines Stapels von mit Handgriffen versehenen Beuteln, dessen Höhe größer ist als die Breite eines Beutels, wird um den Stapel ein Bahnabschnitt (4) aus Papier oder Kunststoff herumgeschlagen und die einander auf einer Stapelseite überlappenden Randbereiche des Bahnabschnitts werden zur Bildung einer den Stapel einhüllenden schlauchförmigen Manschette miteinander verklebt. Die den Stapel seitlich überragenden Endbereiche (6,7) der Manschette werden unter Ausbildung von Eckeinschlägen (16,17) auf die Schmalseiten des Stapels gefaltet und jeder Eckeinschlag wird auf eine Stapelseite umgelegt und mit dieser verklebt. Um das Verpacken mit einfachen Vorrichtungen ausführen zu können, wird zunächst eine Seite jedes Endbereichs um die längere Kante der noch offenen Stapelseite auf diese gefaltet und die angrenzenden Seitenteile des Endbereichs werden in der Ebene der eingefalteten Seite ausgestrichen, so daß dadurch auch die gegenüberliegende Seite des Enbereichs um die gegenüberliegende längere Kante auf die Stapelseite unter Ausbildung von den Stapel überragenden Eckeinschlägen gefaltet wird. Die Eckeinschläge werden sodann auf die an die zunächst noch offene Stapelseite angrenzenden anderen beiden Schmalseiten der Umhüllung eingeschlagen und mit diesen verklebt. <IMAGE>
