In an apparatus for drying wood with a cylindrical heat shield coaxially arranged in a cylindrical housing and enclosing the drying space proper, and also an end air circulating device for better drying at lower energy cost, it is provided according to the invention that the drying space (6) is closed at the end by an end wall (9) which overlaps the heat shield (5), that the interspace between the heat shield (5) and the housing (1) is divided by radial partitions (10-13) into an upper, a lower, and two lateral air circulation channels (14,17,15,16), and that the heat shield (5) has, in the region of the lateral air circulation channels (15,16), air slots (21,22) for a cross-ventilation of the wood stacked in the drying space (6). <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Bei einer Vorrichtung zum Trocknen von Holz mit einem in einem zylindrischen Gehäuse koaxial angeordneten zylindrischen Heizschild, das den eigentlichen Trockenraum umschließt sowie einer stirnseitigen Luftumwälzvorrichtung ist zur besseren Trocknung unter geringerem Energieaufwand erfindungsgemäß vorgesehen, daß der Trockenraum (6) stirnseitig von einer das Heizschild (5) überdeckenden Stirnwand (9) abgeschlossen ist, daß der Zwischenraum zwischen Heizschild (5) und Gehäuse (1) durch radiale Trennwände (10 - 13) in einen oberen, einen unteren und zwei seitliche Umluftkanäle (14, 17, 15, 16) unterteilt ist und daß das Heizschild (5) im Bereich der seitlichen Umluftkanäle (15, 16) Luftschlitze (21, 22) für eine Querbelüftung des im Trockenraum (6) gestapelten Holzes aufweist. <IMAGE>
