A suitcase with inflatable walls comprises: a rigid wall (14, 28); a handle (22) hinged to the rigid wall (14, 28); a box (2) attached to the side of the wall (14, 28), the side being directed towards the interior of the suitcase (19, 25); a compressor (1) arranged in the box (20); actuating means (15, 16, 18) for driving the compressor (1), one of the actuating means (15, 16, 18) projecting beyond the wall (14, 28); a suction line (4) fitted with a non-return valve (5) for supplying the compressor; an outlet line (7) fitted with a non-return valve (8); a manual venting valve (9) provided in the outlet line (7) for letting off air originating in inflatable structures (21, 29, 30) into the atmosphere; connecting pipes (10, 11, 12, 13) for connecting the outlet line (7) to the inflatable structures (21, 29, 30), which connecting pipes are suitable for forming side walls bounding the interior capacity of a suitcase (19, 25) or bag-type covers. <IMAGE>

Ein Koffer mit aublasenbaren Waenden umfasst: eine starre Wand (14,28); einen an der starren Wand (14,28) angelenkten Henkel (22); eine an der Seite der Wand (14,28) befestigte Kiste (2), wobei die Seite nach dem Innenraum des Koffers (19,25) gerichtet ist; einen in der Kiste (20) angeordneten Verdichter (1); Betaetigungsmittel (15,16,18) zum Antrieb des Verdichters (1), einer der Betaetigunsmittel (15,16,18) ragt ueber die Wand (14,28) hinaus; eine mit einem Rueckschlagventil (5) ausgestattete Ansaugleitung (4) zur Speisung des Verdichters; eine mit einem Rueckschlagventil (8) ausgestattete Auslassleitung (7); ein in der Auslassleitung (7) vorgesehnes Handentlueftungsventil (9) zum Auslassen der aus aufblasenbaren Strukturen (21,29,30) stammenden Luft in die Atmosphaere; Verbindungsroehre (10,11,12,13) zur Verbindung der Auslassleitung (7) mit den aufblasenbaren Strukturen (21,29,30), die geeignet sind, den Innenrauminhalt eines Koffers (19,25) begrenzende Seitenwaende oder sackfoermige Huellen zu bilden. <IMAGE>
