A method and a device for paying out and hauling in the umbilical cable (5, 22) of a submarine device (2) from a ship (1) or a suitable platform are proposed, the umbilical cable being run out beyond the edge of the ship by the drum of a winch (6, 11) via a lower deflection pulley (7). To frictionally couple or uncouple the cable couplings (12, 23) of two umbilical cables, a pivoting device (9) is rotated about the axis of the lower deflection pulley or about an axis parallel to the lower deflection pulley from its vertical position into its horizontal position, as a result of which the pivoting device serves as a horizontal working platform for the coupling or uncoupling operation. After the coupling or uncoupling is effected, the pivoting device is put back again into its vertical position. <??>The dimensions of the pivoting device (9) are such that the cable couplings (12, 23) of two umbilical cables (5, 22) can be lined up next to one another at a distance required by the necessary cable connecting lines. <IMAGE>

Es werden ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zum Fieren oder Einholen des Versorgungsleitungskabels (5,22) einer Unterwassereinrichtung (2) von einem Schiff (1) oder einer geeigneten Plattform aus vorgeschlagen, wobei das Versorgungsleitungskabel von der Trommel einer Winde (6,11) über eine untere Umlenkrolle (7) über den Schiffsrand hinaus geführt wird. Zum kraftschlüssigen Kuppeln oder Entkuppeln der Kabelkupplungen (12,23) zweier Versorgungsleitungskabel wird eine Schwenkvorrichtung (9) um die Achse der unteren Umlenkrolle oder um eine Achse parallel hierzu von ihrer vertikalen in ihre horizontale Position gedreht, wodurch die Schwenkvorrichtung als horizontale Arbeitsbühne für den Kuppel- oder Entkuppelvorgang dient. Nach dem erfolgten Kuppeln oder Entkuppeln wird die Schwenkvorrichtung wieder in ihre vertikale Position gebracht. Die Abmessungen der Schwenkvorrichtung (9) sind derart dimensioniert, daß die Kabelkupplungen (12,23) zweier Versorgungsleitungskabel (5,22) mit einem durch die notwendigen Kabelverbindungleitungen bedingten räumlichen Abstand aneinanderreihbar sind. <IMAGE>
