Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0499251A2] A warehouse stacker with two liftable load supports (13, 16) which can be separately controlled is of portal type of construction and is provided with two lift frames (12, 15) which are arranged one behind the other in the travel direction and are preferably designed as side lift frames. One lift frame (12) is fastened to the front-end chassis leg (4) of the transverse portal (5) of the vehicle chassis (1). Suspended on the latter is the first load support (13) which is provided with a layer-receiving device (18) for taking hold of at least one goods layer (34) in a layer-receiving position located outside the transverse portal (5). The lift frame (15) of the further load support (16) is arranged suspended in front of the transverse portal (5) and can be pivoted beyond the side of the stacker contour remote from the portal opening. The front chassis leg (3) lying between both load supports (13, 16) is of a flat type of design with a low height. The layer-receiving device (18) of the first load support (13) with a received goods layer (34) can thereby be brought essentially within the longitudinal contour of the stacker in a congruent manner over a load-supporting device (17) of the further load support (16) on which a warehouse pallet (41) is located. The compact type of construction permits efficient warehousing even under restricted space conditions while simultaneously relieving the physical strain on the warehouse worker. <IMAGE>
