Abstract (en)
The invention concerns method and apparatus for activating longitudinal and transverse pressure sensitive adhesive strips in marginal edge portions (36, 38, 40, 42) of paper business forms (10). One or more roll sets (46, 48) are formed to activate both the longitudinal (40, 42) and the transverse strips (36, 38) while the form travels in a single orientation in a single direction that is parallel to the grain direction of the paper. At least one roll set (46) has a sealing transverse bar (60) extending between enlarged diameter end portions (56, 58). The transverse bar (60) seals a transverse strip and the end portions may be used to seal the longitudinal strips. <IMAGE>
