[origin: EP0499852A2] A plastic container 1 in the form of a crate, specifically in particular a storage and transport crate, is proposed, in which a bottom 4 having a flat upper side is stabilised on the underside by reinforcing ribs 5, 6, and in which flat webs 8 extend along the bottom edge 7 in the direction of the bottom plane, are supported with spacing below the bottom plane by reinforcing ribs 9 extending transversely to the bottom edge 7, and form the standing surfaces of the container 1. Gaps bounded in the manner of pockets between the underside of the bottom, the upper side of the flat web and the transversely directed reinforcing ribs are provided with openings 14 at the edge of the bottom. In order that the containers 1 can be reliably cleaned at all points in practical usage and without cumbersome additional manipulations with a simple manufacturing possibility by means of the usual plastic injection moulding tools, the inwardly directed boundary edges 11 of the flat webs 8 forming the standing surfaces have a spacing 12 from bottom reinforcing ribs 5 and 6 running parallel to them on the underside and form at that point downwardly open passages 15 in the gaps 13 bounded in the manner of pockets. <IMAGE>
