[origin: EP0499907A2] A projectile having deployable fins, the control-surface blades of which are held in the swung-in state (for storage, transport and firing) by a safety device engaging into the control-surface blades, the deployment of the blades into the operating position taking place only after the projectile has left the firing tube, is to be protected from internal ballistic load during its passage through the weapon tube, so that, in particular, the control-surface blades in the swung-in state are not damaged. For this, there is provided for enveloping the control-surface blades a protective device which is thrown off as a result of the spin after the projectile has left the tube. <IMAGE>
