[origin: EP0500126A2] The invention relates to a picture frame made of frame-forming strips which each consist of a profiled support bar and a decorative strip fitted thereon. According to the invention, the decorative strips belong to a set of construction elements with decorative strips of different cross-sections, to which the same profiled support bars are assigned. The profiled support bars have a flat contact surface for the associated decorative strip and are of wider design than the decorative strips. The frame-forming strips are joined to one another in the vicinity of the frame corners by corner-connecting components, the corner-connecting components being attached only to the profiled support bars. <IMAGE>
