Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0501134A1] A multi-stage diffusor (14) leading meridionally into the separation chamber (15) is connected to the pump-like inlet blading (13). For discharging the light parts, recesses (19) which lead into the discharge channels (21) in the inner cylinder are provided at the outlet side end of the inner cylinder (17). If necessary, a collecting groove (20), from which orifices or spit orifices (47) lead to the outside, is provided for the heavy parts, at least upstream of the outlet blading (37). In operation, these orifices are alternately each briefly opened and covered. The stream of the cleaned suspension is taken out via the turbine-like outlet blading (37). At least one part of the inner cylinder (17), in turn bounding the separation chamber (15), can be driven by itself and separately relatively to the outer cylinder (16), so that it can be rotated at a speed of rotation different from that of the outer cylinder (16). It carries at least one scraper (32) which, in operation, clears the inner wall of the outer cylinder in order to prevent caking and to move on the heavy parts. The rotating inner cylinder (17) also carries a pusher ring (44) which revolves in the collecting groove (20), pushes the heavy parts to the spit orifices (47) and alternately closes and clears the spit orifices (47). <IMAGE>
