Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0501219A1] An installation with a coil forming and transferring system for wire and/or fine iron, in particular for heavy-weight coils of up to 5 t, having one or more feeding transport devices and in each case one coil forming and transfer station arranged after the latter, having means for conveying wire coils to an unloading station, is simplified and improved by the fact that the coil forming station (3) and the transfer station (4) form a single unit and the transfer station (4) has a comparatively long C-shaped hook (10) which can be connected to the coil forming station (3) and has a threading mandrel (11) and means (13) associated with it for threading and compacting the wire or fine iron turns or coils (20) transferred from the coil forming station (3) to the threading mandrel (11), and the hook (10) being designed to be movable by means of driving means (12) from the transfer or loading station (4) to the unloading station (2), preferably in an operating plane. <IMAGE>
