Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0501600A1] The invention relates to a rolling stand, in particular for the hot rolling of sections, light sections and wire, comprising two interconnected roll housings, in which the rolls are mounted rotatably in eccentric bushes on pairs of supporting shafts, the supporting shafts being divided into exchangeable portions which support the roll and non exchangeable portions mounted in the roll housing, and the portions being coupled to one another in a manner which allows quick release. In order to configure a rolling stand of the generic type in such a way that a change of rolls in a very short time is possible both manually and automatically without a negative effect on the stand stiffness of the rolls supported at both ends, it is proposed that it should be possible, after releasing their coupling (11) of the exchangeable portions (7b, 8b) of the supporting shafts (7, 8) to the non exchangeable portions (7a, 8a) of the supporting shafts and displacing them axially, to pivot the said exchangeable portions about their bearing (21) remote from the drive into angular positions in which the exchangeable portions (7b, 8b) of the supporting shafts (7, 8) can be drawn in the axial direction with their rolls (6) out of the chocks, past the opposite roll housing (1).
