Abstract (en)
A washing and drying machine for operating in washing, rinsing, spinning and drying modes respectively has an outer frame (1) within which is supported, via suspension rods (2) and vibration absorbers (3), an inner frame (4). The inner frame (4) has opposed axles (6) which support a circularly cross-sectioned tub assembly (5) comprising an outer tub (12) and an inner tub (11). A motor (30) is connected to the outside of the outer tub and is connected by a crank (31) and lever (34) to a pin (33) secured to the inner frame (4) such that the tub may be rotated from a vertical position during which washing and spinning is effected to an approximately horizontal position at which drying is effected. The machine has a drying unit (50) formed by a fan (53) and a heater (56) fixedly secured to the outer frame (1). Flexible conduits (68, 65) connect the drying unit to inlet and outlet ports, respectively, of the outer tub (12). By such an expedient, the drying unit is isolated from vibration from the tub assembly. In a preferred embodiment, a condenser formed by a water spray nozzle (61) is located at the outlet (60) of the outer tub. <IMAGE>
