Abstract (en)

To modify the curvature of the seam of the toe end of stockings with a toe-end sewing machine, there are used, in correspondence with a rotating circular horizontal plane for supporting the flattened stocking toe end to be sewn, with a coaxial plate located above it, having a vertical movement and rotating integrally therewith in order to hold the toe end of the stocking in place during sewing:   - means (14, 16) for grasping at a plurality of points separately the free end of the stocking toe end to be sewn, which projects beyond the rotating sewing plane (4);   - pneumatic means for respectively activating and deactivating the stocking-grasping means (14, 16);   - means for imparting to said stocking-grasping means (14, 16) a rectilinear forward movement in the longitudinal direction of the stocking with the effect of movement away from the sewing plane (4) in order to obtain a tensioning, that is to say an elastic elongation, of the fabric of the toe end of the stocking grasped by the grasping means (14, 16) and respectively with the effect of movement towards the rotating sewing plane in order to obtain the rectilinear return movement of the stocking-grasping means into the initial position, after the grasp on the stockings has been released;   - means for synchronising the actions of the stocking-grasping means with those of said plate of the toe-end sewing machine. <IMAGE>

Abstract (fr)

Pour modifier la courbure de la couture de la pointe des bas avec une machine à coudre les pointes, on utilise, en correspondance d'un plan horizontal circulaire tournant pour supporter la pointe aplatie à coudre du bas, avec plateau coaxial situé au-dessus, à mouvement vertical et tournant solidairement pour maintenir en place la pointe du bas pendant la couture: des moyens (14,16) pour saisir en plusieurs points, séparément, l'extrémité libre de la pointe aplatie à coudre du bas et qui fait saillie au-delà du plan tournant de couture (4); des moyens pneumatique pour activer et respectivement désactiver lesdits moyens (14,16) de prise du bas; des moyens pour imprimer auxdits moyens (14,16) de prise du bas un mouvement aller rectiligne dans la direction longitudinale du bas dans le sens de l'éloignement par rapport au plan de couture (4) pour obtenir une mise en tension, c'est-à-dire un allongement élastique, du tissu de la pointe du bas qui a été saisie par les moyens de prise (14,16) et respectivement dans le sens de rapprochement du plan tournant de couture pour obtenir le mouvement rectiligne de retour dans la position initiale des moyens de prise du bas après avoir relâché la prise du bas; des moyens pour synchroniser les interventions des moyens de prise du bas avec celles dudit plateau de la machine à coudre les pointes. <IMAGE>
