[origin: EP0502568A2] Apparatus for bringing thixotropic plastic materials into a state of reduced viscosity, with a mould to receive the material, with a press plunger to feed the material towards an outlet opening and with a sonotrode coupled to an ultrasonic oscillator, in which the following individual parts are provided: - a two-part mould, which comprises a first and a second hollow body (4) and (5), the hollow bodies (4) and (5) connecting together in a flush manner via a flange (6) and each having a front-side opening, - a sonotrode (2), which is closely fitted into the first hollow body (4) so as to be slidable and is coupled to a piezo-oscillator (3) disposed in front of the front-side opening of the first hollow body (4) and - a press plunger (1), which can be displaced in the second hollow body (5), which is provided to receive the material (8) that is to be brought into a state of reduced viscosity, from the front-side opening of this hollow body towards the sonotrode (2) and presses the material (8) in a state of reduced viscosity (9) out of the second hollow body (5) through an outlet opening (7) directly adjacent to the sonotrode (2). <IMAGE>
