L'invention se rapporte à un système dans lequel les informations relatives à une grille de programmes de télévision sont émises grâce à l'utilisation du télétext d'un système de transmission codé et on effectue le pré-réglage des critères d'enregistrement vidéo d'un magnétoscope en utilisant ces informations relatives à la grille des programmes de télévision côté réception et dans lequel un paramètre d'unité de données relatif aux informations se rapportant à la grille des programmes de télévision transmises par le télétext du système de transmission codé est nouvellement fourni et ces informations sont transmises sous la forme d'unités de données. Côté réception, la transmission des informations est détectée par un organe (9) de reconnaissance du programme. On utilise en outre un organe (10) de reconnaissance de mise à jour du programme, un organe (11) de traitement des informations relatives au canal, un organe (12) de traitement des informations de données, un organe (13) de traitement des informations relatives à la durée, un organe (14) de traitement des informations relatives au code du programme, ainsi qu'un organe (15) de traitement des informations relatives au titre, en vue d'assurer le traitement de ces informations respectives de façon à pouvoir afficher une grille de programmes de télévision sur un dispositif d'affichage. Puis, en utilisant un organe d'affichage de curseur (17), un organe de déplacement de curseur (18) et un organe de sélection (19), on sélectionne le programme de télévision à enregistrer et l'enregistrement vidéo est alors exécuté.
