[origin: EP0503227A1] In order to prevent boom segments (5), which do not belong together, of a sectional boom for a tower crane being mounted on one another, there are provided, on the front ends of the boom segments, fitting element pairs (15, 17) which prevent the coupling of boom segments (5) which do not belong together. The fitting element pairs (15, 17) expediently have identical form from boom segment to boom segment, but are arranged in different positions on the front ends. <IMAGE>
