Abstract (en)

A shelving system includes a shelf mat (12) and a support structure (16) for supporting the shelf mat (12). The shelf mat includes an object carrying portion for supporting objects and a projection (44) connected to and projecting from the object support portion. The support structure (16) includes a pair of vertical corner posts (18) each having two vertical rods (24) spaced by a distance sufficient to permit the insertion of the projection (44) therebetween but to prevent substantial horizontal movement of the projection (44) when the projection (44) is so inserted. The support structure also includes a horizontal support (26), connected between the two vertical corner posts (18), and adapted to support at least a portion of said shelf (12) when inserted between the two vertical rods (24). Methods of manufacturing the shelf mat and support structure using continuous mat-forming steps are also described. <IMAGE>
