[origin: EP0504029A1] In this process for the production of gaseous oxygen under high pressure by air distillation in a double column (7), pumping (at 12) of liquid oxygen drawn from the low pressure column vessel (9), and vaporisation (at 6) of the compressed liquid oxygen by heat exchange with air pressurised to a high pressure, all the air to be distilled is compressed to the high air pressure, the excess fraction of this air is expanded in a turbine (4) braked by an air supercharger (5) to the pressure of the medium pressure column (8), and at least one liquid product is withdrawn from the installation. <IMAGE>
