Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9105126A1] The description relates to a lock housing (111) with a flange, central part and rear for fitting in an aperture (28) in a thin wall, like a sheet metal cupboard door (26) or a sheet metal casing cover, in which the housing (111) is held by means of a spring or springs (46, 146) bearing on the aperture side or rear surface (42) of the thin wall (26) after the rear (68) and central part have been inserted through the aperture (28) as far as the flange (30) and the spring(s) (46) bearing on the aperture side or rear of the thin wall start(s) from the central part of the housing near its end or from the end of the lock housing and is/are rigidly secured axially to the housing (111). According to the invention, the aperture (28) in the thin wall (26) is round or has mutually staggered chord-shaped narrowings and the outer contour of the housing (111) is round or has flattened parts (38) corresponding to the narrowings. The surface of the housing (10) stands back (in the regions between the flattened parts if present) and thus on its outer surfaces forms axial grooves from which the spring(s) start(s). Where the flattened parts (38) are provided, these springs are arranged in their region and the housing (111) forms a recess (72) in the region of two opposite flattened parts (38) for one of the springs (46) starting from the end of the housing (78).
