A method for in-register, multicolour printing of a web of material, such as a web of film or the like, wherein the web of material is drawn off a supply reel and guided in the longitudinal direction through a plurality of printing units, of which the impression cylinder of each printing unit prints a partial printed image in a particular colour, wherein markings are printed on the web of material which are optically scanned by means of a sensor to record the position of the impression cylinder relative to the web of material transversely to the direction of transport, and wherein the respective impression cylinder is displaced transversely to the direction of transport as a function of a deviation established. To achieve a significant improvement in the realignment of lateral deviations, provision is made for the marking to be printed by the respective first impression cylinder as a strip (15) running longitudinally, and for each of the subsequent impression cylinders to be assigned a sensor (11) which scans at least one of the two outer contours of the strip. <IMAGE>

Bei einem Verfahren zum passergenauen, mehrfarbigen Bedrucken einer Materialbahn, wie einer Folienbahn od.dgl., wobei die Materialbahn von einer Vorratsrolle abgezogen und in Längsrichtung durch eine Mehrzahl von Druckwerken geführt wird, wovon der Druckzylinder jedes Druckwerkes ein Teil-Druckbild in einer bestimmten Druckfarbe aufdruckt, wobei auf der Materialbahn Markierungen aufgedruckt werden, die zur Erfassung der Relativlage der Druckzylinder zur Materialbahn quer zur Transportrichtung mittels eines Sensors optisch abgetastet werden, und wobei in Abhängigkeit von einer festgestellten Abweichung der jeweilige Druckzylinder quer zur Transportrichtung verlagert wird, ist zur Erzielung einer deutlichen Verbesserung bei der Nachregelung von Seitenabweichungen vorgesehen, daß die Markierung als längsverlaufender Streifen (15) von dem jeweils ersten Druckzylinder aufgedruckt wird, und daß jedem der nachfolgenden Druckzylinder ein Sensor (11) zugeordnet ist, der wenigstens eine der beiden Außenkonturen des Streifens abtastet. <IMAGE>
