[origin: EP0504501A1] A doctor arrangement (1) comprises a holding/adapting strip (2) and a doctor strip (5) provided with a doctor element (6). In order to bring the doctor element (6) into optimum working contact with a surface (19) to be processed, in particular over large working widths, the doctor strip (5) is inserted without attachment in a longitudinal slot (30) in the holding strip, said doctor strip being supported with compression elasticity against the bottom surface (4) of the longitudinal slot (30) and being deformable and movable transversely to the longitudinal axis of the doctor strip in relation to any cross-section of the doctor strip in all degrees of freedom, and the holding strip (2) and the doctor strip (5) being free from clamping relative to one another and being at least slightly loosely displaceable in all degrees of freedom transversely to the longitudinal axis of the doctor arrangement. <IMAGE>
