The invention relates to process and an apparatus for the treatment of waste (= material to be treated), contaminated with noxious substances, such as industrial dust and slurries, mill scale, waste sand and the like, in which a heated bulk bed, by introducing a (fluidising) gas, is fluidised at least in the region of an upper layer to form a fluidised bed, the fluidised bed, composed at least in part of the material to be treated, being heated from above, the heating intensity being controllable, so that the solids temperature on the one hand and the gas temperature prevailing in the gas space above the fluidised bed on the other hand are adjustable and that the thermal requirements of the treatment process can be controlled by the fluid dynamics requirements of the material system, decoupled from each other.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zum Aufbereiten schadstoffbelasteter Abfallstoffe (= Aufbereitungsgut) wie industrieller Stäube und Schlämme, Walzzunder, Altsand u.dgl., bei dem ein beheiztes Schüttgutbett durch Einleiten von (Fluid-)Gas wenigstens im Bereich einer oberen Schicht zu einer Wirbelschicht fluidisiert wird, wobei die wenigstens z.T. aus Aufbereitungsgut bestehende Wirbelschicht von oben beheizt wird, wobei die Beheizungsintensität steuerbar bzw. regelbar ist, so daß die Feststoff-Temperatur einerseits und die in dem oberhalb der Wirbelschicht befindlichen Gasraum herrschende Gastemperatur andererseits einstellbar sind, und daß die thermischen Erfordernisse aus dem Aufbereitungsprozeß von den strömungstechnischen Erfordernissen aus dem Stoffsystem entkoppelt voneinander steuerbar sind.
