The press device for pressing together workpieces has two press units (3, 5) which can be pressed against one another and mounted in an articulated manner on in each case one of the two legs (18a, 18b) of a C-shaped force-absorbing unit for absorbing the reaction forces. One press unit (3) is firmly connected to the machine frame (1) and the other press unit (5) is displaceable in the feed direction (7) on guide rails (8a) fixed to the machine frame (1). Although, as a result of this arrangement, the legs (18a, 18b) of the C-shaped force-absorbing unit can be bent up due to the feed pressure during the pressing-together, tilting or inclination of the press rams (11, 12), mounted on them, of the press units (3, 5) does not occur. The press device can be used wherever the two press rams (11, 12) of the press units (3, 5) have to be moved towards one another under high pressures and in exact alignment and lateral feeding of the workpieces to be pressed is to be possible. Die Preßvorrichtung zum Zusammenpressen von Werkstücken hat zwei gegeneinander preßbare Preßeinheiten (3, 5), die an je einem der beiden Schenkel (18a, 18b) einer C-förmigen Kraftaufnahmeeinheit zum Aufnehmen der Reaktionskräfte gelenkig gelagert ist. Die eine Preßeinheit (3) ist mit dem Maschinengestell (1) fest verbunden und die andere (5) in Vorschubrichtung (7) auf am Maschinengestell (1) befestigten Führungsschienen (8a) verschiebbar. Durch diese Anordnung können die Schenkel (18a, 18b) der C-förmigen Kraftaufnahmeeinheit durch die Preßvorschubkraft während des Zusammenpressens zwar aufgebogen werden, ein Kippen oder ein sich Neigen der an ihnen gelagerten Preßstempel (11, 12) der Preßeinheiten (3, 5) erfolgt jedoch nicht. Die Preßvorrichtung kann überall dort eingesetzt werden, wo die beiden Preßstempel (11, 12) der Preßeinheiten (3, 5) exakt fluchtend unter hohen Drücken gegeneinander bewegt werden müssen und ein seitliches Zuführen der zu verpressenden Werkstücke möglich sein soll. Sie kann somit bei Abbrennstumpfschweißmaschinen, Preßschweißmaschinen, ... wie auch bei Werkzeugmaschinen, wie z. B. Bohrmaschinen, Fräsmaschinen, bei einer Vielzahl von Pressen, etc. eingesetzt werden. <IMAGE>
