Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0505231A1] The present invention relates to a hydraulic control device for a variable amplitude lift mechanism of at least one valve, for example of an internal combustion engine. This device comprises a valve lift mechanism in which at least one pawl articulated on at least one pivot interacts with a cam so as to bring about lifting of the valve (2), at least one pivot (13, 14) being stationary and at least one pivot (15) being movable between two positions under the effect of the device, so as to cause the amplitude of the lift to vary, this device being characterised in that the movable pivot (15) is securely fastened to a support (50) sliding in a stationary body (51), a transverse locking finger (60) coming into the active position facing a bore of the same diameter formed in the stationary body (51) and able to be pushed hydraulically into the bore of the stationary body (51), thus locking the support (50) in the active position of the pivot (15). This invention applies for example to the manufacture of internal combustion engines of all types. <IMAGE>
