[origin: EP0505694A1] In a pretreatment installation for the pretreatment by spraying of objects to be coated in a subsequent coating installation, in each case a plurality of such objects being arranged on holding devices of a transporting device and being subsequently fed by the transporting device in a clocked fashion to a plurality of spraying pretreatment devices, in order to obtain a very space-saving design accompanied by intensive treatment, provision is made for a plurality of holding devices (6) to be arranged transversely with respect to the transporting direction (8) and for a plurality of collection troughs (1) to extend with their longitudinal direction at a right angle with respect to the transporting direction (8) in each case, the longitudinal sides of the collection troughs (1) being arranged directly adjacent to one another, and a separating device, which has separating elements (15) which can move out and release the transport path, being arranged in the region (17) of the longitudinal edges between two collection troughs (1a, 1b, 1c and 1d, respectively). <IMAGE>
