[origin: EP0505726A1] The invention relates to a noise reduction device on a previously mentioned appliance, having a drive part which is movable in a housing and acts on the insertion end of an insertion tool to produce the working movement, the insertion end being supported on a tool holder likewise inside the housing. To reduce noise radiation in the holding region of the insertion tool, it is proposed to enclose the insertion end (4b) over a part of its longitudinal extent (1) in which the neutral zone (N) of the tool holder (6, 7) is also situated with a bush-like damping element (8) of flexible material, which lies snugly against the insertion end and is also held at least on the tool holder (6, 7). <IMAGE>
