A rod-type curler (1) without a bar for curling and fixing dry or moist hair has a curling body (2) made of resilient, restoring foam plastic and is provided with a device for fixing a curved form of the curling body (2) after curling. Ein bügelloser, stabförmiger Lockenwickler (1) zum Aufwickeln und Festhalten trockener oder angefeuchteter Haare weist einen Wickelkörper (2) aus nachgiebigem, rückstellendem Kunststoffschaum auf und ist mit einer Einrichtung zum Fixieren einer gekrümmten Form des Wickelkörpers (2) nach dem Wickeln versehen. Der Wickelkörper (2) weist mindestens in einem Endbereich (5) einen randgeschlossenen Schlitz (9) oder eine schmale Ausstanzung auf, die sich parallel zur Achse (10) des Wickelkörpers (2) erstreckt. Der Wickelkörper (2) weist weiterhin über seine wesentliche axiale Erstreckung konstante äußere Abmessungen auf. Der geschitzte oder gestanzte Bereich des Wickelkörpers (2) ist elastisch zu einer Öse verformbar, um das andere Ende des Wickelkörpers (2) in der fixierten Stellung aufzunehmen. <IMAGE>
