To make the separate supply of a bleaching agent in a washing machine of the type in question substantially simpler, one of the chambers of the feed device is used for supplying a bleaching agent, this bleaching agent being flushed into the washing drum only after the start of the main washing phase (II) with a certain time delay. <IMAGE>
