To minimise, without the use of an oiling system, frictional forces between the side faces of a blade and product to be cut and thus prevent parts of the product to be cut from sticking to the side faces of the blade, a blade (1) having a spiral-shaped cutting edge (3) extending over about 150-360 DEG is proposed. An outer-edge strip of the blade (1) forming the cutting edge (3) projects at an acute angle from the plane of the blade (1) with respect to the cutting surface of the product to be cut. Owing to the bevel of the blade (1) thus formed, it is ensured that only the cutting edge (3) comes into contact with the cutting surface of the product to be cut and all other regions of the blade are kept at a distance from the cutting surface. <IMAGE>

Um unter Verzicht auf ein Beölungssystem Reibungkräfte zwischen den Seitenflächen eines Messers und Schneidgut auf ein Minimum zu reduzieren und dabei zu verhindern, daß an den Seitenflächen des Messers Teile des Schneidguts haften bleiben, wird ein Messer (1) mit einer spiralförmigen, sich über etwa 150 - 360° erstreckenden Schneidkante (3) vorgeschlagen. Ein die Schneidkante (3) bildender Außenrandstreifen des Messers (1) steht in einem spitzen Winkel aus der Ebene des Messers (1) heraus zur Schnittfläche des zu schneidenden Guts vor. Durch die so ausgebildete Fase des Messers (1) ist sichergestellt, daß allein die Schneidkante (3) mit der Schnittfläche des zu schneidenden Guts in Berührung kommt und alle übrigen Messerbereiche einen Abstand zur Schnittfläche einhalten. <IMAGE>
