Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0506288A2] A solid-state relay having a normally-on (closed) contact, has reduced sensitivity to transients on the output thereof when the contact is open (relay is actuated). The relay has series of photodiodes (6), a switch (9), and a pair of depletion type output transistors (2,3) coupled to the output (4,4<1>) of the relay. The output transistors are driven by the photodiodes with the switch in parallel with the input of the transistors. The switch allows for the rapid deactuation of the relay. A resistor (10), disposed in series with the switch, reduces the susceptibility of the relay to the transients by slowing the turn-on of the switch. <IMAGE>
