[origin: EP0506652A1] The invention relates to a cover having a profiled frame for sealing shafts, sleeves for introducing lifting tools, and optionally also fastening pins for detachable connection of the cover to the surround of the shaft opening, being fixed to the profiled frame in the region of at least two and preferably all corners of the cover. The end face of the sleeves preferably lies at the surface of the cover, having small covering plates arranged in the corners of the cover, two edges of the small covering plate, which meet in one corner of the small covering plate, lying snugly against the profiled frame of the cover at least over part of its length. The small covering plate is in this case pushed detachably onto the sleeve 2 and ends flush with the surface (4) of the cover, the sleeves 2 having at a distance from the end face 3 a stop 5 which is preferably formed by a widening of the sleeve 2 and on which the small covering plate 6 rests. <IMAGE>
