[origin: WO9109715A1] In a method for cleaving laminated mineral blocks (1) along an interface between two laminae a fluid under pressure is fed to the mineral block to be cleft at at least one place (21) in the boundary region between said two laminae so as to make the fluid penetrating between the laminae and while pressing them apart propagate between the laminae until they are separated by a continuous crack.

L'invention concerne un procédé de fendage de blocs de minéraux stratifiés (1). Le long de la ligne de partage entre deux strates du bloc de minéral à fendre, on injecte en un endroit au moins (21) un fluide sous pression afin que celui-ci, en se propageant entre les deux strates, les repousse l'une de l'autre jusqu'à les séparer complètement.
