[origin: WO9207351A1] A system for applying brightness signals to the pixels of a display device includes a transmission port for each pixel column. The electrodes for controlling the transmission ports are precharged according to the port threshold voltage in order to susbstantially increase the system's speed. Comparators are provided which compare the brightness voltages to a reference ramp voltage to improve the speed and precision of the system. The invention is applicable, in particular, to liquid crystal display devices.

Un système pour appliquer des signaux de luminosité aux pixels d'un dispositif d'affichage comporte une porte de transmission pour chaque colonne de pixels. Les électrodes de commande des portes de transmission sont préchargées à la tension de seuil des portes de manière à accroître sensiblement la vitesse du système. Des comparateurs sont prévus pour comparer des tensions de luminosité à une tension de rampe de référence pour améliorer la vitesse et la précision du système. L'invention s'applique notamment aux dispositifs d'affichage à cristal liquide.
