Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0507002A2] The switching device (26) of the pressure switch (10) has a stationary contact element (30) and a moving contact element (32) which is coupled to a snap spring (50). These contact elements (30, 32), which form a switch contact, are arranged between a clamping-in point (62) on the housing and an operating point (44) at which a membrane (24) engages by means of a plunger (46) on a leaf spring (34) which operates the switch contact. In this case, the operating point (44) is located on a longer lever arm than the switch contact. This causes a force transfer from the membrane movement to the switch contact and, through the amplification of the contact pressure, ensures increased electrical switching reliability. <IMAGE>
