Abstract (en)

Device for removing, one by one, flat objects from a pile of such objects, especially constituted by mail envelopes (2), including a belt (6) and a lateral jogging edge (7), an entrainment member (9) consisting of at least one band, driven in continuous rotation by rollers (12-14), the band having a perforated surface for allowing a stream of air sucked through the band, so as to press against the latter the first object of the pile, thereby moving it parallel to itself. According to the invention, this device is characterised in that the entrainment member (9) consists of two adjacent parallel bands (10 and 11) which are synchronously entrained over the rollers and separated by an intermediate free space (15), in that a drive member (16) is mounted between the rollers (12-14), is brought into communication with a suction fan (23) and includes a selector (17) which itself surrounds a rotary distributor (18), this selector (17) being provided so as to move, as desired, the location at which, by virtue of the fan, a flow of suction air is produced through the entrainment member, especially in line with predetermined zones of the bands and in the free space. <IMAGE>
