Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0508923A1] The present invention relates to a device for releasing a main chain (4) from the free end of the shank (7) of an anchor (2) making it possible to free the said anchor (2) by pulling it by means of a cable (8) linked, on the one hand, to its crown (9), and on the other hand, to the said device. <??>It is constituted by an elongate plate (10) one end of which is provided to accommodate the last link of the said main chain (4) and whose other end is provided with a through slot (15) in the axis of the said plate (10), with a second plate (16) superimposed on the first plate (10) and provided in order to pivot with respect to the said first plate (10) around a shaft (19) which is normal to the said plates (10, 16), the said second plate (16) comprising a finger (17) which, in a first relative position of the two plates (10, 16), covers over an end part of the said slot (15) thus allowing a shackle (6) to be attached, the shackle being provided at the free end of the shank (7) of the anchor (2) and which, in a second relative position, uncovers the said end allowing release of the said shackle (6) of a return spring (22) and of a stop (20). The first lateral edge (26) of the said second plate (16) is brought close to the opposite edge (25) of the said first plate (10) by means of a tube (29) launched from the boat and running freely on the main chain (4), the said tube (29) having its internal diameter equal to the distance between the first edge (26) of the second plate (16) and the opposite edge (25) of the said first plate (10) when the said device is in the said second opening position. <IMAGE>
