Partial textile cover intended to protect a mattress against soiling, in particular liquid soiling, comprising, in combination, an upper face (2) of the width approximately of the mattress (1) overlapping on the longitudinal sides of the mattress (3) (4) and a lower face (9) of the width approximately of the mattress (1) rising up on the longitudinal sides of the mattress (7) (8), the joining of the faces (2) and (9) being ensured by strong stitches (5) and (6) on the sides (3), (4), (7), (8), or by a system for quick opening and closure (10), to obtain a parallelepipedal sleeve which, adapted to the mattress (1), forms a continuous belt, the said partial cover being characterised in that the lower face (9) and the sides (7) and (8) are made from an extensible textile (fabric) or from a textile (fabric) which has been made extensible by virtue of elastic means (11), (13) and (14). <IMAGE>
