Abstract (en)
The present invention relates to a flare having a combustible element made from paraffin and a sheath (12) made from paper which serves as wick. Problems have always existed with such flares owing to the fact that the paraffin liquefied by the flame forms copious drops and flows off, as well as that there is a relatively short burning time. The invention provides a remedy here by means of a fire-retarding helix (14) which is laid spirally around the sheathed combustible element so as to produce a spiral interspace (16). <IMAGE>

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Fackel mit einem Brennkörper aus Paraffin und einem als Docht dienenden Mantel (12) aus Papier. Mit derartigen Fackeln hat es im Stand der Technik immer Probleme durch das starke Abtropfen und Abfließen des durch die Flamme verflüssigten Paraffins, sowie durch eine relativ kurze Brennzeit gegeben. Hier schafft die Erfindung Abhilfe durch eine feuerhemmende Wendel (14), die schraubenförmig derart um den ummantelten Brennkörper gelegt ist, daß ein schraubenförmiger Zwischenraum (16) entsteht <IMAGE>
