Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0509252A2] The invention relates to a system for separating components of the bulk material of different hardness values, in particular refuse, and consists of a drum 2 which rotates about a horizontal axis 3 and of a charging plate 5 which is arranged above said drum 2 and from which the components of the bulk material pass, after impact, onto the upwardly moving side of the drum, soft parts being entrained from the drum away over the said side onto the downwardly moving side of the drum and hard parts dropping downwards onto the upwardly moving side. The innovation is that the charging plate 5 has a rough surface which ensures that parts which have stuck together or are connected in any other way are separated from one another on impact. Furthermore, a blocking plate 18 is provided above the rising side of the drum, which plate collects soft components of the bulk material which slide too far when rebounding from the charging plate and directs them onto the drum at a point from which the soft components continue to be entrained upwards.
