[origin: EP0509621A1] The invention relates to a method and a device for reovalling longitudinal seam welded tubes, in particular austenitic and/or ferritic tubes, after rolling in the weld-seam thickening by means of an adjustable roller which deforms the weld seam against an internal mandrel, is moved, mounted in a stand, over a section of the tube corresponding to the length of the internal mandrel, and is moved back to its starting position after completion of the rolling stroke. To provide a method and a device for reovalling longitudinal seam welded tubes after rolling in the weld-seam thickening, which method and device can be used without internal lubrication of the mandrel or tube even in the case of relatively small tube diameters with relatively thick walls, it is proposed that the tube which has been ovalled during the rolling-out of the weld seam is, after completion of each rolling stroke, simultaneously compressed over the entire rolling-stroke length in the direction of the main axes of the oval pipe cross-section. <IMAGE>
