[origin: WO9110540A1] A ratchet type power tool for rotating fasteners comprising a detachable pair of housing components (10a, 10b), a rotatable member (24), a reciprocatable member (20), an advancement member (34) and a drive shaft (19) having an offset pin (29) to reciprocate member (20) upon rotation thereof. Rotatable member (24) is prevented from rotation in one direction by providing a load on to axial faces of the member (24) by contacting pair of housing components (10a, 10b) directly or through an intermediate member (36). Rotatable member (24) located in the annular body of the reciprocating member (20) comprising coupling means (25) for the fasteners to be rotated on one end of the housing (10a, 10b) and the other end of the housing consisting of a coupling means to connect drive member (19) to a driving source.
