[origin: EP0510253A1] The invention relates to an auxiliary loading device for the manual ramming of ammunition for a gun which can be loaded by means of an automatic loading device and of which the barrel (1) equipped with a lid (3) can be closed by means of a lifting breech wedge (5), an auxiliary loading pan (7) being provided for the emergency ramming of the ammunition. To guarantee uncomplicated emergency operation, whilst at the same time ensuring simple and reliable handling and a rapid firing sequence, the auxiliary loading pan (7) is equipped, at the end to be arranged adjacent to the lifting breech wedge (5), with lateral ribs (11, 12), one of which is equipped with a quick-closing part (17) and with an axially extending long hole (14) having an introduction orifice (15) at the end adjacent to the lifting breech wedge (5), and the lifting breech wedge (5) has, on the underside, lateral guide strips (18) allowing an insertion and axial displacement of the ribs (11, 12), a bolt (21) insertable with its head (20) through the introduction orifice (15) and receivable by the long hole (14), and an orifice (22) for receiving the quick-closing part (17) when the end position of the bolt (21) in the long hole (14) is reached. <IMAGE>
