[origin: EP0510351A2] A fastener driving tool is to be universally usable for different types of fastener. For this purpose, the magazine and the firing channel are designed in a special way which is particularly favourable in terms of manufacture and ease of operation. The magazine 4 consists of a U-shaped casing 11, which is open at the bottom, and a slide 12 which is longitudinally displaceable therein and has a centrally attached guide rail 31. The guide rail 31 is so designed that not only wide but also narrow staples, as well as nails, can be guided. Inserted into the sheet-metal profile, open at the bottom, of the guide rail 31 is a stripping plate 39 which can be mounted at this location at the correct angle, without subsequent work. A displaceable strip 16 which engages into the casing 11 serves as an insertion aid for narrow fasteners and nails. The firing channel 3 is bounded by an exchangeable, profiled end plate 22. <IMAGE>
