[origin: EP0510372A1] The invention relates to a railway freight wagon for transporting semi-trailers for road vehicles, which semi-trailers can be lifted by crane and have at least one pocket (6) which is located at a lower position with respect to the outer side members (1) of the underframe of the freight wagon for the purpose of holding the wheels of a semi-trailer and having at least one support block (8) which serves to receive the kingpin of the semi-trailer and can be displaced in the longitudinal direction of the wagon on a sliding track (9) running over the displacement area. In order to further develop a railway freight wagon of the type defined above in such a way that the entire length of the wagon is available for loading the railway freight wagon, it is proposed that a loading table (12) be arranged at the end of the sliding track (9), onto which table the support block (8) can be pushed, it being possible to swivel the said table into a position in which it clears the loading surface (11) defined by the upper side of the outer side members (1). <IMAGE>
