The present invention relates to a cooking chamber. This cooking chamber can be placed directly on a gas burner and is characterised in that it forms a portable, independent, small-volume oven (F) which comprises a base (9) with orifices (10) allowing direct heating of the products contained in the oven by circulating hot gases inside the latter. The chamber of this invention makes it possible to cook, to defrost and to reheat, for example, food preparations. <IMAGE>
