Wingsail for a sailing boat whose mast adjustable in length consists of several telescopic tubes (12, 18, 20) on which booms (44, 48, 52) are guided which can be hoisted and reefed individually and between each of which a sail fabric spanning the vertical distance is provided. Each boom comprises several horizontal boom parts which are connected to one another by perpendicular hinge pivots, together correspond to a symmetrical wing profile and for each boom can be pivoted by means of an adjusting motor drive to form a curvature distribution optimally adapted to the wind conditions. <IMAGE>

Profilsegel für ein Segelboot, dessen in der Länge einstellbarer Mast aus mehreren Teleskoprohren (12, 18, 20) besteht, auf denen einzeln aufziehbare und reffbare Segelbäume (44, 48, 52) geführt sind, zwischen denen jeweils eine den vertikalen Abstand überbrückende Segelbespannung vorgesehen ist. Jeder Segelbaum umfaßt mehrere, durch senkrechte Scharnierachsen miteinander verbundene, gemeinsam einem symmetrischen Tragflügelprofil entsprechende horizontale Baumteile, die für jeden Segelbaum mittels eines motorischen Verstellantriebes zu einer den Windverhältnissen optimal angepaßten Wölbungsverteilung verschwenkbar sind. <IMAGE>
