Abstract (en)

[origin: JPH05192213A] PURPOSE: To further extend the life of a new style after letting hair down by heating a hair curler to a higher temperature, and increasing the periphery where curls are wound. CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical component 2 is provided with a vertical slit 3, and it must be made of a material having the phase transition temperature lower than the relatively low limit of about 60 deg.C, for example, to prevent hair from being singed. Curls M are pressed to the surface of the component 2 and held by a fastening means at the starting temperature equal to be ambient temperature to prevent the relative slip of the hair. The component 2 and curls M are then exposed to a temperature rise sufficient to exceed the phase transition temperature of the material of the component 2. The cross section of the component 2 is opened to generate the elongation of the hair of the curls M, and the elongation of about 3% corresponding to the peripheral change of the cross section is generated, for example. This hair redoing exceeds the slip threshold value, i.e., slip limit value, of the hair at the elongation of about 2-2.5%, and an improved result is produced from the life of the hairstyle redoing applied to the hair in particular.
