Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9111199A1] A medicament for inhibiting or slowing the progression of acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) and AIDS related complex (ARC) comprising a pharmaceutically effective amount of one or more antibodies selected from the group consisting of anti-Le<Y>, anti-AI and anti-sialyl-Tn, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, diluent or excipient. A method for inhibiting or slowing the progression of AIDS and ARC comprising administering to a subject having AIDS or ARC a medicament comprising a pharmaceutically effective amount of one or more antibodies selected from the group consisting of anti-Le<Y>, anti-AI and anti-sialyl-Tn and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, diluent or excipient. A vaccine against AIDS and ARC, comprising an immunologically effective amount of one or more antigens selected from the group consisting of Le<Y>, AI and sialyl-Tn, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, diluent or excipient. A method of actively immunizing against AIDS and ARC, comprising administering to a subject a medicament comprising an immunologically effective amount of one or more antigens selected from the group consisting of Le<Y>, AI and sialyl-Tn, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, diluent or excipient.
